Adjustments for AcceptanceDave scrolled through his school's organizations website, hopeful to find something that would pique his interest. However, as he combed through the site, he continued to come up with no results that interested him. He scrolled and scrolled until he had had enough. There were actually no clubs for him to join at his university. That surprised him. Getting up from his desk, he check his phone for dinner plans. Audrey had texted him asking if he could do eight, half an hour from then. That would work - he told her yes.
Dave met up with Audrey outside their dorm, Jameson Hall, and they left for dinner. As they reached the dining hall, they ran into some of Audrey's friends.
"Hey Audrey!" they waved them over cheerfully.
"Hey guys," Audrey greeted them warmly in return, "have you all met Dave before? He's a friend from my sociology class."

The first time we were both sitting in the room together, getting ready to take the math test that would determine our placement. I was scatterbrained and throwing things around, trying to find the pencils that I had known I would need but had still just tossed in my purse. He was lounging backwards in his chair, looking for all the world as though he didn’t have a single care in the world, including the upcoming test. It annoyed me, that I was frantic and ready to scream, while someone else could be that relaxed.
